Day 1, South Haven to Sawyer

The journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. And, because I'm an engineer, I'll say our journey will be about 1010 or so miles.

I love my wife. Today was fantastic because of her. We're in Sawyer, right next to an adult toy store, across from a truck stop with three restaurants. We've ridden our first 42 miles, quenching our doubts.

A clear picture of us starting off.

Before we left

On the way we saw this cemetery. Dead people get the best views!
UPDATE from Sue:
Biking 42 miles isn't that hard.
Biking 42 miles with two panniers and two toddlers is hard.
Going uphill -- REALLY hard.
Taking away bottles from two toddlers and staying up all night -- priceless.

ROUTE: Blue Star to Red Arrow. We never saw where one turned into the other. Red Arrow was busy, 4 lanes, and apparently full of people who like to honk at sleeping toddlers.
